Principle Electrical Engineer

Principle Electrical Engineer experienced in utility grade substation detailed design.  Ability to oversee project teams consisting of civil, structural and electrical engineering specialists & designers.  Responsible for providing guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on various projects, executing individual projects and exploring new forms of technologies to further the company’s technical proficiency. Principal Engineers are leaders who think strategically and have long-range goals in mind. They are often assigned to focus on longer-range company initiatives to improve performance, quality and other cross-functional areas. Reports to Vice President of Engineering.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Fifteen (15) plus years engineering experience in the areas of power generation, power delivery and/or industrial automation systems. Professional Engineer licensed in Maine and/or New York. Current NCEES record and ability to apply for PE licenses in other states as needed.
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical focus area, provide training, mentorship and guidance to clients and staff.
• Coordinate effectively with team members and external parties including clients, suppliers, and contractors.
• Aggressively promote a safe and healthy environment and always employs safe work practices.
• Manage all phases of projects including conception, design, specifications, scheduling, estimating, material procurement. & cost control.
• Conduct engineering studies, investigations and prepare reports.
• Lead and contribute to assigned company process improvement efforts.
• Perform design review and deliverable quality checks.
• Participate in marketing and sales calls.
