The Kennesaw Police Department is a full service municipal police agency committed to providing high quality law enforcement to those who live, work, and travel in the City of Kennesaw. The Department operates in partnership with the community to protect life and property, preserve the peace, and prevent crime and disorder. The City of Kennesaw Police Department is an innovative agency serving a diverse population of over 32,000 in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The Kennesaw Police Department is accredited by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
This position is responsible for the enforcement of federal, state, and local laws and the protection of life and property. Being a member of the Kennesaw Police Department not only offers an exciting chance to work in a vibrant and rapidly growing community, but also offers one of the best benefits packages in the metro area. The department is comprised of 67 full-time, sworn officers and several non-sworn employees. Minimum starting salary is $18.76 per hour. College graduates and Georgia P.O.S.T. certified Peace Officers will earn starting salaries above the minimum. Officers assigned to night shift receive differential pay in the amount of an additional $1 per hour. The department issues take home patrol vehicles for officers who have completed their probationary period.
Georgia P.O.S.T. certified Peace Officers with at least 3 years of experience are eligible for a $3,000 hiring bonus, payable at the completion of probation.
