PLUMBER FOREMAN JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY: The Plumbing Foreman is the person most responsible for success of work projects, providing all needed leadership, supervision, direction, and support to assigned employees producing successful, quality project completion in a safe, timely and profitable outcome. Job sites are often in remote settings, so Foremen must have individual skill and initiative to conduct their daily work as well as the experience to anticipate future issues impacting their projects. Plumbing Foreman are leaders first, with positive interactions across their team, as well as with customers, contractors, vendors and internal project management.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Able to accurately read building plans and inspect structures to determine material and people needs, to establish the sequence of installations.
- Review blueprints, drawings and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
- Perform complex calculations and planning for unique or particularly large jobs.
- Coordinate daily with SKMES Project Manager, Operations Manager, General Contractor representatives or others as needed to account for issues impacting the assigned project.
- Schedule work on assigned projects in sequential steps and within time limits to meet deadlines.
- Take appropriate, prompt, and effective actions in response to staffing issues, delays, inclement weather, or unexpected situations at the construction site.
- Trains and develops everyone assigned to the project, to improve their individual and collective work quality, productivity and safety.
- Correctly complete daily reports, timecards and scheduling updates using given tools and technology platforms.
- Supervise and assist in the assembly and installation of pipe fittings and fixtures of water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels..
- Ensuring the quality and timeliness of installed pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Supervise complex tasks such as the cutting of openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Journeyman Plumber with 5 years of experience as a plumbing foreman.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly, including under stressful situations.
- Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.
- Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem.
- Ability to stand & walk, reach outward constantly, frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to exercise fine motor control and possess excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Frequent reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
- Demonstrated dependability and trustworthiness.
