Pilot Recruiter –
Overview
The Pilot Recruiter – will be responsible for the selection and interviewing of pilot candidates who are interested in joining the Career Path Program.
This includes managing the United Express and Flight School partners. This individual will be responsible for the event and outreach strategies along with promoting a strong employment brand with our United Regional Carriers (UAX) and flight school partnerships through a high-touch approach. This person will play a critical role in building United's reputation with each one of our partnerships as well as attracting top talent to build the future pilot pipeline of United Airlines.
Responsibilities
Support the pilot hiring department through building a pipeline of candidates
Full lifecycle recruitment from point of sourcing candidates to offer decision communications
Develop and execute key sourcing strategies to attract talent; initiate, organize and attend events
Primary liaison for our United Express partners
Conduct behavioral interviews in a high volume, high touch point environment
Support and own pieces of the candidate selection process
Assess candidates to determine if their qualifications match the job requirements
Plans, coordinates, and leads the execution of all logistical elements for on-site marketing efforts for United Express Carriers (i.e., information sessions, career fairs) and interviewing efforts (i.e., establishes interviewing dates, solicits and schedules interviewers, prepares interviewing materials)
Manages stakeholder engagement and updates them on recruiting metrics to help identify gaps in our recruiting process or areas of improvement
Serve as the primary information resource for candidates throughout the interview process -- communicates status, answers questions, extends offers, schedules start dates, coordinates all follow-up efforts
Support occasional diversity and inclusion conferences; assist with planning and execution of events
Partner with hiring managers to discuss candidate qualifications and placements
Lead at least (1) direct report
Role Requirements
Bachelors' Degree
3-5 years recruiting experience, preferably with exposure to university/campus recruiting
Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of time to a interview hub and locations
This role may require evening and weekend hours
Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented environment
Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to build relationships with candidates, UAX partners as well as United hiring partners
Demonstrated experience in recruiting for hard-to-fill positions, utilizing various sourcing methods
Prior experience coordinating and attending career fairs, as well as giving presentations
Strategic and forward-thinking skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with United's policies
Attendance is required at work location
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT
Experience using applicant tracking and CRM systems (i.e., Taleo highly preferred, Montage, SmashFly, Handshake)
Preferred Qualifications
Project management experience
Experience managing large & small-scale events
Understanding of building strong partnerships similar to that of a campus recruiting environment
Experience within the aviation industry, preferably recruiting pilots
