The Payroll organization provides specialized services in support of the of the Private Client Services (PCSP). The Manager, Payroll will support the organization in meeting the demands and needs of their designated business and clients.

 

Work You’ll Do:

In providing finance-related services, you will partner with the assigned business to ensure growth and to enable clients to meet their financial goals and provide overall strategic direction for the EY PCS Practice including the day-to-day management and development of the payroll team. This position is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of payroll in accordance with government regulations and Firm policies.

  • Define and manage the strategy for the payroll operations function, including timekeeping, payroll, payroll tax, and payroll accounting/GL integration
  • Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators and metrics
  • Maintain a payroll risk and crisis management strategy
  • Provide the advanced consulting, negotiation, collaboration and change management skills required for working with internal & external stakeholders
  • Build relationships to help effectively manage outsourced payroll vendors
  • Provide the advanced analytical/problem solving skills required for working through root cause analysis of payroll process, system and service delivery issues
  • Maintain effective internal controls and proactively work to identify and implement efficiency improvements
  • Ensure consistency in payroll practices, controls, and management reporting in accordance with established policies and procedures including all legislative compliance requirements
  • Analyze and interpret company policies and government regulations that impact the processing of payroll
  • Direct the payroll tax function (including multi-jurisdictional) and the payroll accounting/GL interface
  • Partner with HR, Finance and IT regarding the processing of employee health and welfare benefits, compensation, acquisitions/divestitures,
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all payroll, employee and any proprietary information

What You’ll Need:

  • Payroll experience within small – medium size organizations
  • Demonstrated success in payroll system implementation, strategy, and governance
  • Proven success in partnering with top leaders, leading change initiatives, and setting payroll strategies
  • Project management, analytical and process orientation skills
  • Demonstrated success managing complex and competing organizational priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively
  • Knowledge of ADP GlobalView, SAP SuccessFactors and robotic process automation preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including experience with payroll system implementation and standardization
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related field
  • Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP) other recognized payroll certification
  • International experience preferred.
  • Operation within a Shared Services environment and/or BPO model preferred
