Ophthalmic Tech
Established multi-physician ophthalmic practice in North Houston/Spring area
$18-23 hr. DOE
- 2+ yrs experience as OA or OT working with patients and assisting doctors
- Coordinate clinical flow, complete patient histories and work-ups
Responsibilities:
- Scribe for and assist physician during patient examination.
- Coordinate testing and surgical needs with surgical counselors.
- Accurately perform and document patient history and diagnostic testing
- Visual fields, keratometry, lensometry, basic pupil evaluation
- Tonopen, tonometry, Visual acuity, etc.
- NPC, BAT & PAM, manual refractions
- Assist doctor with patient calls, pharmacy calls, etc.
- Communicate all doctor instructions to patient and/or referring physician offices including fax reports, letters, post op visits, etc.
. ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain practice and patient confidentiality/HIPAA requirements at all times.
- Maintain a professional level of communication and patient care
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
