Job Description:

Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Education: Graduate from school of nursing; RN or BSN required
Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice in the State of Ohio
Experience: Minimum of two year’s recent and relevant clinical experience required

  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Evidence of effective leadership and management abilities/potential
  • BLS healthcare provider training required
  • Professional Certification Preferred
  • ACLS healthcare provider training, if applicable (i.e. Emergency Department,

Required Licenses and Certifications 
 

  • Registered Nurse licensed in Ohio. 
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) 
 

Experience with Operating Room or  Neurology and Neurosurgery problems, including but not limited to: 

 
  • Seizures
  • Video Electroencephalography (VEEG) monitoring
  • GRID monitoring (intraoperative subdural VEEG monitoring)
  • Extraventricular drains
  • Encephalitis
  • Guillain-Barre syndrome 
  • Neurologic trauma 


All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. We support the development of RN relationships within the community; specifically, those relationships associated with the health and well being of the community at large. 

The Licensed Registered Nurse will successfully complete the hospital and nursing orientation program. 
Identify resources and know when to ask for assistance. Aware of how to access best practices. Identify self-learning needs and seek resources to meet those needs.

    • Complete documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Continually assess and plan proactively for educational needs throughout hospital/clinic stay and before the time of discharge.
    • Organize care to complete assignment on time.
    • Demonstrate caring in all encounters with patient and family as evidenced by feedback from parents and an increase in patient satisfaction scores.
