Job Description:

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville seeks to hire a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) PRN to work as needed in their laboratory. This position will require phlebotomy.

The address is 411 North Belknap, Stephenville, TX 76401.

Salary range for a MLS is Minimum $26.69/hr. to Maximum $39.40/hr. – based on relevant experience

Salary range for a MLT is Minimum $20.16/hr. to Maximum $31.15/hr. – based on relevant experience


Work Schedule:

  • PRN – As needed
  • Variable days/shifts to include days, nights, and weekends

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or education equivalent to an Associate's degree in a laboratory science or medical technology for a MLT (Must include at least 60 hours or equivalent from an accredited institution that include at a minimum either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses that include at least 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination
  • Bachelor's Degree for an MLS (or attained within 3 months of hire date)
  • Preferred: Associates degree or Bachelors of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological science (proof required)
  • Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program
  • 6 months experience in a Hospital Medical Laboratory highly preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience a plus

Required License/Certification:

  • MLT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP) or equivalent (AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology)
  • Registry must be attained within 3 months of hire date
  • Preferred: MLT(ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP)

Required Skills:

  • Strong positive interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly
  • Problem solving ability, time management skills
  • Possess organizational skills to function successfully in a fast paced work environment
  • Computer literate
  • Preferred: Experience with Cerner Millennium LIS
