Job Description:

In Cano Health, we are currently looking for a Quality Specialist who will support the department by providing continuous training and serve as the supportive main contact for all medical assistants at all Cano Health medical centers. Communication skills must be excellent and must also be a proactive thinker to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration in facilitating approaches.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Commit to training medical assistants while applying HEDIS related items into EMR software on an ongoing basis.
  • Review quality measures applicable to medical notes into the applicable software system.
  • Support departments to increase uniformity in the generalization of a daily process where data is collected.
  • Evaluate medical assistants and lab technician’s workflows and performances.
  • Participate in audits and analyzes data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Constantly communication with care managers and general manager in order to have an agreeable service delivery in all location
  • Support EMR- Transition to current and new acquisition to the application modules.
  • Other daily activities include the ability to manage large amounts of data electronically, file documents in electronic filing software, faxing, scanning, and abstracting documents from electronic storage devices
Education & Experience
  • High school or higher education, at least two years of related work experience are preferred. Completion of Medical Assistant training is required
  • Medical Assistant or Clinical Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
  • Skill in operating phones, personal computers, software, and other IT systems.
  • Skill in oral communication
  • Ability to communicate with employees, patients and other individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
  • Bilingual
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
Physical Requirements/Working Environment

This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
