Reports To: The Chinese Teacher will report to the Academy Director 
 

Job Overview: Vine Education Group Inc. is an after-school language and math academy looking for a teacher who has experience teaching young learners ages 5-10 Mandarin Chinese, including Chinese characters, Hanzi (漢字), and Chinese Romanisation, Pinyin (拼音). Classes will be held after public school hours on weekdays from 3:00-6:00 PM and on weekends. A successful applicant will have previous teaching experience, effective teaching methods, and ideas to share with our academy on how to improve and develop our Mandarin language program over time. 
 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of Mandarin class.
• Manage a classroom of 8-12 elementary level students, aged 5-10 years-old.
• Have the ability to teach both native Mandarin learners, as well non-native and completely new learners with no Mandarin language background.
• Have the experience and ability to make lesson plans for the classes you will be responsible for teaching and willing to share them with the  academy director before the start of classes for feedback and approval.
• Have the flexibility to teach a variety of classes, with the possibility of mixed leveled learners in a class.
• Contribute ideas and feedback in planning and development of the academy’s Mandarin Chinese program. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in any field
• Preferably 2+ years experience teaching Mandarin
• Preferably 5+ years experience teaching background

Mandarin Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world, we offer classes for both native English and native Chinese speakers.

Pinyin is the phonetic system of Chinese language, it's a great tool to help you learn the accurate pronunciation of Mandarin words and input Chinese characters on your computer or smartphone.

Math classes provide a firm foundation in arithmetic, fractions, decimals and more, while improving study skills. For students aged 6-10, practice really does make perfect, your child will continually progress and be challenged to succeed.
