The Maintenance Technician’s main responsibility is to conduct, maintain, test and repair mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and components. The position applies knowledge of mechanical and electrical/electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The maintenance technician provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing and the facility.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Communicates with Production Manager and Chief Operating Officer to set Maintenance priorities.
- Ensuring that all production equipment is maintained and performs preventive maintenance functions.
Position + Hours:
This is a permanent full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, core hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 7:00pm, 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule is required to occasional work nights and weekends and to be on call in case of an emergency.
Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the building maintenance field, OR two years technical or trade school training certification and two years of experience in one of the following trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- A technical or trade school training certification is preferred but not required.
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electronic/Electrical Maintenance principles.
- Advanced mathematics and computer knowledge required.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write English at a level to effectively use/interpret instructions.
- Time management, communication, and multitasking skills required.
- Detail-oriented, organizational and cleanliness is skills required.
- Able to work independently, as well as with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work with and around chemicals is required.
- Experience driving and operating a forklift is highly preferred.
- HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Certification preferred but not required.
- The ability to learn quickly is a plus.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 20 pounds.
