Job Title:                  Engine Bearing Machining Team Member

Department:          Engine Bearing Machining

Reports To:             Team Leader

FLSA Status:           Hourly      

Prepared Date:     2/16/2019

                             

SUMMARY

Understand and perform all activities associated with setting up and operating Engine Bearing Line.

Need to be self-motivated and work individually and in a team.

Maintains a positive work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for maintaining safe work environment and reports safety concerns.

Maintains a clean (5S) work environment.

Able to maintain high quality standards –

                               Visual inspection of products against boundary samples.

Performs product measurement using, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, mini-master, digital gauges and mastering of each gauge.

Can interpret readings against standards/diagrams and able to use conversion charts/SPC charts and record the results.

Perform quality checks at set times and timely manner.

Can communicate and report issues to team leader/supervisor. Stop/Call/Wait

Organizes scrap in proper location and organized.

Performs mistake proofing checks and communicates issues.

                               Ability to maintain production requirements      

                               Meet daily production quantity targets

                               Perform tool changes within target time

                               Make machine adjustments, including offsets and mechanical adjustments.

                               Meet the scrap targets.

                               Able to identify machine issues and make judgement for correction (Stop/Call/Wait) OPS

                            

Must possess good mechanical abilities.

                               Use of hand tools, allen wrenches, spanner wrench, open/box end wrench, mallets

Troubleshooting Skills –          

                               Able to identify machine issues and make judgement for correction (Stop/Call/Wait) OPS

                               Able to recover process with minimum downtime

                             

Must learn and follow the Toyota Production System (TPS), FIFO, schedules and Kanban System.

Must possess good judgement, and communications skills within the team/shift and leaders.

Adheres to company policies and work rules.

Training of new team members to meet production qualifications and scrap targets.

Able to work overtime.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Math Skills – Adding, Subtracting, Dividing. How to perform equations, ratios.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The employee is occasionally required to walk up/down stairs and maintain balance.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
