Individual will be working under the direction of the primary school RN. Position is responsible for performing health care services to students and staff at a private school which is a 12-month school year for individuals with special needs; Alexandria/Ft. Belvoir primary location with monthly team meetings and staffing as needed at other campuses to support nursing team.
Employee’s duties include, but are not limited to:
- Medication administration
- Organize and maintain the health clinic and record
- Performing health screenings and assessments
- Assess student daily health needs
- Administer emergency care / first aid treatment; provide general health counseling and teaching, conducting health-related workshops for staff
- Provide a safe and healthy environment in order to maximize students’ potential to learn, and communication with families, medical, and related services regarding students’ status and health needs, and implementing and assisting with the HealthyPath nutrition and wellness program
- Coordination with other campus nurse for managing scheduling as needed
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), preferably in school, pediatric office, or public health
- CPR and First Aid certification
