Assembly, Generators & Towers / Region Americas / Brighton Factory Logistics
The Logistics Developer reports into the Logistics Manager in the Vestas Assembly, Generator and Tower production business unit. This department has overall responsibility for value chain execution; including inbound supply from a global supply chain to ensuring that product is ready to be delivered for site construction.
Responsibilities
- Secure that all material is available to fulfill the production plan
- Primary interface with Global Logistics Services team in Chennai
- Monitor inbound freight of critical supply items
- Production scheduling; including options, rework and other production activities
- Identify and implement supply chain optimization strategies
- Lead continuous improvement activities and projects
- Drive key factory performance metrics in terms of supply chain performance: OTD, inventory reduction and freight spend
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum 4+ years working in Global Supply Chain networks
- Background in planning and purchasing activities to support manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of global, multi-modal freight and logistics solutions
- Detailed and in-depth background in MRP – preferably SAP
