Job Description:

Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus is now accepting applications for Lead Linux Administrator. The Lead Linux Administrator leads the management and support of ERP cloud systems at a secure and stable level while maximizing availability and providing secured access for applications, application developers, college staff, and students.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defines Linux OS standard configurations for use in mission critical systems
  • Manages the security configuration of Linux systems
  • Manages the ERP cloud infrastructure
  • Tracks vulnerabilities and applies appropriate patches and upgrades
  • Writes scripts to automate multiple administrative tasks
  • Develops and tests system backup and recovery plans
  • Develops and maintains capacity plans for all systems
  • Monitors and troubleshoots system performance
  • Installs, configures, and documents new servers and applications
  • Maintains and audits system security configuration and logs

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or other closely related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in implementing complex enterprise Linux systems and security technologies
  • Experience administering Linux systems in a complex environment
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
  • Experience of Bash, Perl and other scripting languages.
  • Experience of WebLogic and Tomcat technologies
  • Experience of FTP, SFTP, DNS and other protocols
  • Experience of PeopleSoft systems in a large complex organization
