Are you a DBA Manager looking for your next role? My client is
looking for a Manager to lead a team focused on database
administration. This role revolves around Oracle & SQL Server
upgrades, maintenance and support services. There is direction on
moving to the Cloud and strengthening Infrastructure Engineering.
You will be giving the opportunity to be a hands on coach and
develop talent to support Oracle and SQL Server databases
engineering skills.
About the job:
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and
associated training plans for database administration and project
delivery.
* Participate in the development of IT strategies in
collaboration with the architecture team and represents
organization on specific projects.
* Ensure adherence to governance oversight as defined by Change
Management, Release Management, Security and Compliance.
* Interacts frequently with internal and external management and
senior-level representatives concerning projects, operational
decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual
clarifications.
* Leads briefings and technical meetings of internal
and external representatives.
* Initiates and fosters collaborative partnerships with current
and potential clients, IT and business managers, vendors and IT
executives; develops relationships that support increasing
efficiency and effectiveness.
* Participates in the development of business and/or IT vision,
strategies, critical success factors and operating plans for
application, unit or portfolio.
* Foster team adoption of software development best practices and
evangelize a culture of innovation by leveraging industry
insights, analytics and operational metrics.
Desired skills:
* Bachelor or Master Degree in technical or business discipline
or related experience required.
* Minimum 5+ years and typically 8+ years of Database
Administration experience with 3 years in a leadership role
preferred.
* Experience in Oracle or MS SQL Server Database, operations,
maintenance and support preferably with Database technology, and
Cloud, Virtual, and Physical platform environments or an
equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative,
communication, presentation and management skills, strong
judgment and ability to work effectively with clients, IT
management and staff.
