Required:
Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Overview:
is currently seeking a Lab and Deployment Technician in our Scottsdale, AZ location.
The MUOS Lab & Deployment Tech will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:
Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems
Duties & Tasks
Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems
Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
Will be required to support Deployment activities at customer sites (CONUS and International)
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
Identifies and helps prototype new preventative maintenance tasks
Will be expected to lead, direct, and organize Technician work
Works with associates in other departments and understands cross-functional relationships
May be required to support development of test specifications and procedures

Understands implications of their work and makes recommendations for improvements
Ability to perform duties and tasks with minimal supervision required
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external team members including customers
Ability to use computers and software applications to assist in job execution, with special focus on Excel
Mechanically inclined and able to maintain, repair, and install equipment that is part of a “live and operational” system
Capable of working remotely with limited local support
