A fast-growing hospitality company is looking to hire an experienced Accounting Manager to be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Irvine. This position is responsible for performing accounting functions for a hospitality group that operates restaurants and hotels in Orange County. Our Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing the full cycle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing duties for several business locations. Experience in Hospitality is a major plus!
Responsibilities:
-Manage the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
-Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles as well as federal, state and local financial requirements
-Frequently communicate with the parent company in Korea in conjunction with financial reporting as a key stakeholder
-Report monthly Cash Flow Statement and assist cash management
-Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; prepare ad-hoc reports
-Support operations through bi-weekly roll-up of operations report deck and analysis
-Coordinate with external auditors for the preparation of annual audit, quarterly review, and compilation packages
-Execute and coordinate general accounting and related activities:
-Post journal entries associated with restaurants’ operation and verify all invoices have been posted correctly.
-Prepare monthly / quarterly / yearly financial reports
-Maintenance of A/R, and A/P
-Assist in analyzing current Systems and Procedures, to improve efficiency and automation wherever possible
-Reconcile bank statements as well as performing monthly G/L account analysis and reconciliation
-Assist operation managers at businesses with accounts payable questions and accounting issues
-Prepare daily revenue reports
-Analyze budgetary, financial, and statistical data and make recommendations based on the
conclusions derived from such analyses ? Reply to all chargeback inquiries from your merchant processor
-Reconcile monthly vendor statements- Weekly aging and selection of payable invoices
-Assist external audits (Sales Tax, Business Property Statement 571_L Forms)
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-8+ years progressively responsible experience in accounting, Hotel / Food & Beverage experience preferred.
-Well-developed understanding of accounting systems and other software systems (ex. Compeat) - Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel. Proficiency in Compeat program extra plus
-Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP, accrual basis accounting and financial reporting
-Must be an active team player and have strong work ethics
-Driven personality and desire to grow with the company
-Excellent interpersonal, organizational, math and analytical skills
-Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing in order to meet deadlines
-Ability to work effectively as a team member in resolving related issues
-Restaurant / Hotel experience in a corporate environment is required
-Korean and English Fluently Speaking Preferred
