REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Medical Office experience including knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, CPT codes and insurance highly preferred, but not required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs insurance verifications, authorizations, as well as schedules MRIs, CTC, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer and telephone skills
- Call insurance companies and/or utilize online resources to verify eligibility and benefits
- Complete and document referrals and authorizations
- Verify insurance cards for active coverage and that they are entered into EMR system
- Make corrections or changes made to patient’s insurance
- Schedule appointments for physicians, therapists, and surgery center
- Communicate effectively with outside facilities for surgery and test scheduling
- Meet with patients and provide surgery and test information for patient understanding
- Have great attention to detail and be able to multi-task effectively
- Be open for schedule changes for department coverage
- Assist team and other departments with duties as assigned
- Able to work independently along with supporting a team as needed

- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Regularly required to sit long periods of the day;
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
