Job Description:

Primary Function: The IT Tech I maintains computer systems for Phoenix Group and offers support to the system’s users. This may be internal assistance, working directly with staff who use the computer systems or it may be assisting external customers who access the systems via the Internet.

The IT Tech I reports to the CIO/CTO, however, their duties are often performed with minimal supervision.  The IT Tech I interacts at all levels of the Phoenix Group organization.

Functional Responsibility

IT Techs are tasked with keeping current systems updated and running smoothly. They are also tasked with upgrading the system and its components when the need arises.

Provide assistance to employees in the daily operation of software, hardware and networks.

Configure LAN and WAN routers and all related equipment when new systems needed

Set up desktop computer equipment and install all network and system software, including operating systems and user software packages for new employees

Set up new users on LAN and/or WAN networks, provide access permissions to approved groups and configure security settings for new employees

 

 

Required:
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in an information or related technical field
  • A+ certification.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Help desk experience. One year of experience in information projects and/or help desk.
Special Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. passport
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance
  • Office automation equipment, phone systems, computers, network routers and switches, network attached storage and servers.
