Responsibilities

  • Assist with lesson plan creation based on the Creative Curriculum that adheres to Common Core Standards.
  • Help teach students in class, small groups, and one-on-one situations as needed.
  • Assist in developing schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime.
  • Help keep records of student progress, interest, and other anecdotal information to keep parents informed of their child’s development and progress.
  • Help organize and structure activities based on children’s needs.
  • Assist with the redirecting students to ensure proper student behavior.
  • Participate in family engagement activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of early childhood growth and development through Developmentally Appropriate Practices
  • Help meet the emotional and physical demands of working with children ages 3 months to 4 years of age.

Requirements

  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate, or an Associate degree in Early Childhood Development or an Associate degree in another discipline with at least 9 credits in Early Childhood Development.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Early Childhood Development.
  • Experience in executing lesson plans and following a curriculum.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Up to date health certificate and TB test or willingness to obtain
  • Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Ability to pass background and fingerprinting check
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed
  • A commitment to further education and training
