SUMMARY
This position is a HR generalist managing human resource functions for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, a $12 million not-for-profit organization with 46 employees. This position works with Kentucky Chamber senior leadership and reports to the chief financial officer. The ideal candidate will have a background in human resources with three to five years of experience and appropriate certification(s). This position is a hybrid work schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
•    Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues. 
•    Lead the recruitment, selection and hiring process, and new hire onboarding.
•    Administer employee benefits programs and billing.
•    Strengthen the Chamber’s efforts to recruit and attract a diverse workforce and continuously build an inclusive workplace culture. 
•    Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and retention of employees. 
•    Develop and monitor overall HR polices, systems and procedures across the organization.
•    Nurture a positive working environment by engaging in employee relations. 
•    Oversee payroll operations.
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with record-retention and data privacy.
•    Oversee and manage the performance management process.
•    Assess training needs and coordinate training programs for leaders and employees.
•    Provide HR decision support and guidance for leadership. 
•    Ensure the organization complies with labor laws and adheres to HR best practices.
•    Oversee and maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all positions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
This position has no direct reports but supervises the oversight and implementation of HR policies and procedures. 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 
Must be a college graduate and have three-five years of human resource experience. Relevant HR certification required. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
Basic algebra and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions, proportions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Employee must have one or more HR certifications. Employee must have a valid driver’s license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Employee must have strong computer skills, including functional knowledge of several different software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this position require the ability to lift a maximum of 20 lbs. and be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time. On occasion, must be able to work up to 16 hours per day.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
