Job Description:

HSE Coordinator is a position within the Health, Safety and Environment Department reporting to the HSE Specialist. This position is responsible for assisting in the administration and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental management plans, primarily focusing on the Vestas Behavioral Change process; conducting reporting/inspection procedures, assisting as directed with the day to day HSE initiatives within factory location.

 

Responsibilities

  • Works with the HSE team to coordinate the Vestas Behavior Change effort.
  • Facilitates monthly VBC meetings, and other meetings, as needed. Takes notes, publishes them
  • Conducts observer training classes, and NEO safety behavior module. Mentors other VBC trainers
  • Coaches observers. Develops a coaching team for VBC observers.
  • Uses observer data and accident data to focus improvement efforts using Action Planning and Problem-Solving techniques
  • Conducts routine HSE inspections as requested.  Generates findings reports for HSE and supervisors
  • Assists with Job Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Register reviews and updates
  • Assists with development and issuance of operational procedures and technical guidance to all Team and Management Members in establishing and maintaining safety and health procedures
  • Assists with incident investigations, reporting and follow-up meetings
  • Assists with HSE Management System various audits, HSE Checks and inspections
  • Assists with environmental, waste management, fire protection compliance and improvement activities
  • Understanding of HSE databases and sharepoint sites, including the Vestas 3E SDS Database, Incident Management System (IMS), Safety Walk Database
  • Review and assist with documentation changes of HSE procedures in alignment with the HSE Management System
  • Tracks projects to completion
  • Assist with creation of HSE newsletter to Teams, Supervisors and Managers
  • Assists with Safety Committee meetings planning and initiatives
  • Assists with statistics and reporting data gathering
  • And all other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, 2+ years related experience/training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of professional Safety experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including ability to type and navigate websites
  • Microsoft Office experience required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
