EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (ED) / HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR (HUC)

Contract Length: 13 + weeks (extendable, possible contract to perm)
Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36
Shift Requirements:
- Mix of 8 and 12 hour shifts.
- Primarily 8 hour PM shift.
- 8 hour shifts are 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a.
- 12's are 7a-7p and 7p-7a.
Weekend/Holiday: Every other Weekend and Holiday
Float Requirements: N/A
On Call/Call Back Requirements: N/A
Required Qualification:
- Graduate of an accredited MA program; certified nursing assistant or have completed the EMT basic course.
- Required - Patient care in a clinic, acute care hospital or ambulance.
- Prefer at least 6 months.
- Epic Charting preferred, not required
Unit Specific Skillset:
- There is a large clerical portion to the role.
- Answering phones, sending faxes, calling MDs for transfers/consults, etc.
- But there is also a clinical aspect-doing EKGs, IV starts (if properly trained), ambulating patients, toileting, answering call lights, etc.
