Government Contract Accounting Specialist / Accountant
Regular Full Time

Credentials Required: 

· Accounting Knowledge: B.S in Accounting or higher, 2+ years of work experience, accounting firm experience a plus 

· Excel Skills: Advanced (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF) 

· Experience with Government Contracts and FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) 

· Familiarity with Manufacturing Environments 

· Strong Communication Skills 

· Team Player 

  

Roles/Responsibilities 

· Daily Bank Reconciliation including Cash Receipt Entry 

· Review/Resolution of all AR and Bank Reconciliation issues 

· Cash Management including bi-weekly AP Payments 

· Bi-annual Job Costing (labor/burden rate) updates with input from Operations 

· Energy Consumption/Rate Tracking 

· Accounts Receivable Follow-up & Resolution 

· Quarterly /Annual Census Surveys 

· Government Contract Billing / Analysis 

· Government Contract Incurred Cost Electronically Submissions 

· Overarching management of Accounting System in line with Government FAR 

· NYS Sales and Use Tax Work / Quarterly submissions 

 

Monthly Close Activities 

· Government Contract Cost Reporting / Internal Revenue Recognition 

· Maintain Monthly track of Government Contract expenses versus recognized Revenue 

· Maintain Monthly track of IRAD expenses versus ledger 

 

Back-up Roles/Responsibilities

· Immediate back-up to accounting administrator 

Desired Hours: 

· A Shift: 8:00AM – 5:00PM  

 

 Reporting: Directly to Controller
