Job Title: General Technician
Duration: 12 months
Location: Georgetown, KY
Company Background: Our client, a major employer in the area, is looking for a General Technician
to be part of its team in its North American operations.
Description:
The Engineering Technician's responsibilities include performing research, building prototypes, inspecting products, ensuring sites are safe and clean, and providing customer support. You should be able to troubleshoot equipment, communicate effectively under pressure, and provide effective suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to work in maintenance & manufacturing environments within the plastics sector.
- A strong background with mold repair, hand work, and associated hand tools
- Mold tool steel welding such as P20 and/or SD18 materials
- Experience in Plastics Injection Mold maintenance, Injection Molding Machine Operation & Processing, robot programming, and troubleshooting
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects
- Able to take initiative to recommend projects, product improvements, or cost reductions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 2 years technical degree (A.S.) or equivalent work experience
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with automated robotic welding (spot/arc) and robotic material handling
- Additional related certifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience
Notes:
- Would be maintaining and tuning plastic injection molds, Robot operated part take out devices, and Mold Injection Machines
- Candidate with plastics manufacturing and mold maintenance background is Mandatory
- Heavy Travel is required for this role at other sites in USA, Canada and Mexico 80% approx.
- Candidate should be Data driven and Detail orientated
- Should have good Excel, MS office and computer skills
- Robotics experience is a plus not mandatory
