General Farm Laborer

Job Title: Farm Laborer
Reports to: Farm Supervisor or Manager

Job Summary:
The Farm Laborer is responsible for performing various manual labor tasks on the farm. The Farm Laborer works under the supervision of a farm supervisor or manager and performs tasks such as planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops, feeding and caring for livestock, and operating farm machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plant, cultivate, and harvest crops using hand tools or farm machinery
• Care for and feed livestock, including cattle, pigs, and poultry
• Operate farm machinery such as tractors, trucks, and irrigation systems
• Maintain and repair farm machinery and equipment as needed
• Maintain and repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures as needed
• Clean and sanitize farm buildings, equipment, and tools to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to the farm supervisor or manager
• Assist with other tasks as needed, such as loading and unloading trucks, preparing farm products for market, and assisting with farm events

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working on a farm or in a manual labor position preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods of time
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to operate farm machinery and equipment, or willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed

• The Farm Laborer must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), stand and walk for extended periods of time, and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and reaching.

• The Farm Laborer will work outdoors in various weather conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, and wind. The job may also require working in confined spaces and with livestock, which may produce strong odors and require the use of protective equipment
