We are a family owned funeral home and still operate very much like those smaller firms in the smaller towns, but with a much higher call volume.

2 years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to pass an FBI background check.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

High degree of overall computer knowledge.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Photoshop, scanning photos, etc.).

Role and Responsibilities:

Ability to embalm, make funeral arrangements, type obituaries, generate funeral agreements, etc. with limited assistance. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, grieving families, the general public, clergy, etc.

Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.

Attention to detail and follow-through when working with multiple families or services.

Be able to go on first calls day or night, including for pets.

Able to do daily maintenance of a funeral home, including light cleaning, taking out the trash, boxing medical waste, unloading caskets, unloading bodies from other funeral homes for cremation, and handle all aspects of the service.

Adhere to the companys commitment to serving our community with professionalism and respect.

Understand and adhere to all company policies outlined in the company handbook.

Be on-call for first calls, in rotation as assigned, up to 2 nights per week, including answering the phone, dispatch the removal team, reach out to nurse, chaplain, hospice nurse, coroner, and/or family as each situation dictates.

Transfers decedents, embalm, aspirate, dress, casket, apply cosmetics, etc. Conducts and attend funeral services as scheduled by the management team.

Keep all licenses and do any continuing education required by the state of GA. Ability to stand for two (2) or more hours without rest
