Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains fundraising program; manages current donor contracts; monitors and maintains donor benefits and assets including tents, tables, chairs, banners, websites flyers, banners, digital billboards, etc.; maintains list of current donors; submits donor list for events to appropriate personnel; maintains all related documentation
     
  • Recruits donors for Department events; determines funding needs; creates and compiles donor information; develops partnerships with local businesses and civic organizations;  identifies and solicits potential donors to sponsor recreation programs, special events and summer camps; schedules and attends meetings; answers questions and provides information as to benefits of events and programs; maintains related documentation.
     
  • Recruits and supervises volunteers; meets with volunteer groups; tracks volunteer data and information; recruits and volunteers for events; coordinates event activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; confers with assigned staff and volunteers; makes signage; arranges for food and beverages; maintains list of volunteer hours; provides recognition program.
     
  • Processes grant and scholarship applications within designated time frames and per established procedures; researches grant and scholarship opportunities; compiles and gathers data and information; types and assembles grant applications; submits applications to funding agencies; maintains related documentation.
     
  • Assists managing events; submits requests for sponsor and vendor needs, such as tables, chairs, banners, etc.; coordinates layout according to sponsor requirements and needs; assists with set-up and tear down of booths, restrooms, activities, power supply, etc.  
     
  • Communicates with supervisor, City employees, vendors, donors, volunteers, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
     
  • Prepares, types, proofreads, and/or completes various forms, reports, invoices, donor documentation, vendor documentation, volunteer information and logs, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, or other documents.
     
  • Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, deposit reports, policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks, directories, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, proofreads, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate. 
     
  • Operates a personal computer, general office equipment, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.
     
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

Performs other related duties as required.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of experience in fundraising, donor development or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization:  Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.

Verbal Aptitude:  Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude:  Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.

Functional Reasoning:  Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.

Situational Reasoning:  Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change.

Physical Ability:  Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.  Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors:  Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
