The Licensing & Training Specialist is the primary point of contact for licensed foster homes and is responsible to accurately and in accordance with strict timeframes, complete and submit initial license and re-licensing files to DSS, along with making recommendation for approval or revocation of licenses in foster care. Position plays a role in enhancing recruitment, retention and outreach services to families, communities and collateral contacts. This position will also assist in the training and onboarding of new foster parents by teaching MAPP classes as well as facilitating other training opportunities to develop foster parent's skills and knowledge in creating a trauma-informed treatment environment in their home. This position will drive the recruitment, training and licensing for 75 new foster homes over a three year period. Successful candidates must meet Qualified Professional status.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field with at least 2 years of training experience and knowledge of the foster care licensing processes, rules, and service definitions relative to training requirements for foster parents. Applicants must be willing to work on a flexible schedule and be able to provide crisis support.
A valid driver’s license in the state of permanent residence, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required. No calls please.
