*Able to work and complete tasks with minimum oversite.
*Understands work and related tasks pertaining to concrete construction.
*Possess a sense of urgency and installs urgency in others.
*Sets priority and expectations.
*Creates personal “methods” so long as they fall within Hilcon’s guidelines.
*Communicates clearly.
*Participates and leads morning “huddles”.
*Shows energy to complete tasks.
*Assumes responsibility when the team is under pressure.
*Communicates deadlines and delegates responsibilities.
* Able to receive constructive criticism.
General knowledge requirements of a Project Foreman:
Definition of knowledge: Facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. Awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation.
A Project Foreman must possess the necessary knowledge for the portion of the project for which they are responsible for. This knowledge includes some necessary technical skills as well as well as appropriate social skills. Some of those skills include:
*Must be able to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
*Must be able to provide basic “layout” of project dimensions, elevations, etc.
*Must be able to effectively manage a crew of two to five employees.
*Must have a general knowledge of concrete construction.
*Must have a general knowledge of concrete reinforcing/wire-mesh/rebar.
*Must be able to effectively communicate and participate in project meetings.
*Must be able to analyze and provide project updates.
*Must be able to manage employees, material, and equipment with minimum oversight.
