Fire is extremely dangerous because it is rarely anticipated and poses a great threat to lives and property. While our local fire departments may be quick responding to the threat of fire they are not considered the first line of defense, as there may be people already be at the location of the fire.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the State of Georgia recognize fire extinguishers as a first line of defense for fires. These portable hand held units have the ability to #1. Protect lives and provide safety #2. Stabilize the incident #3. Protect property. Without fire extinguishers, a small fire that could be easily extinguished becomes a threat to lives and property.
