Field Sales Agronomist

Location: Lawrence and Kansas City Area
 

Are you a skilled and motivated individual with a passion for agronomy sales? We are seeking a dedicated Field Sales Agronomist to join our team and be accountable for sales and services to growers in the Lawrence and Kansas City area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with customers, offer innovative solutions, and contribute to the success of our agricultural community.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct sales calls throughout assigned territories to assess agronomy needs, develop solutions, and establish lasting relationships with customers.
• Plan and execute test plots at farms to showcase improved varieties of field crops, such as corn and soybeans, as a sales tool.
• Maintain an updated list of customers and prospects, evaluating them based on factors such as operational size and credit worthiness.
• Stay informed about agronomic products, trends, and services to effectively promote and sell agronomy products.
• Recommend and sell products and programs to producers within company policies and guidelines.
• Provide timely feedback to management on competitive sales, pricing, and market information.
• Communicate with management regarding sales contracts, product issues, and customer concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with two to four years of related experience; or an Associate's degree in Agriculture with four to five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Current driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) required.
• Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification is a plus, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel daily within the territory with minimal overnight travel.

Salary: $55,000 - $80,000 per year plus commission
