3.1 Phillip Lim is looking for a RTW Fabric Associate to join our 3.1 Tribe in our New York City office!
What you'll do:
- Assist in Research and Development of Women’s and Men’s fabrications with Senior Fabric Manager, Design team and Creative Director.
- Submit Artwork to mills and factories for fabric and print development.
- Place purchase orders for tailoring, sample fabric and garment leather orders.
- Track, follow up, and record all tailoring and sample fabric and garment leather for atelier and factories.
- Spearhead alert to factories for all incoming deliveries.
- Liaise with Atelier regarding fabric/garment leather storage and organization.
- Continuously organize current headers; file or donate out of season headers to create space for new items
- Help open all packages for Fabric dept, checking for tailoring and sampling deliveries.
- Daily upkeep of WIP, including recording shipped/received fabrics in real time and recording accurate sample and production prices.
- Daily upkeep of shared fabric boards.
- Assist in creation and assembly of fabrication binder to pass to production after seasonal markets.
- Collect and cross-check FDS & LDS sheets from suppliers in a timely manner, and file in current production binder.
- Process tailoring and sample invoices. Liaise with accounting regarding timely and accurate payments.
- Manage interns including finding interns via postings.
- Act as support during Women’s and Men’s Fabric meetings with Senior Fabric Manager, Design team and Creative Director; Set up boards, fabric bins, and meeting supplies prior to each meeting
- Alongside Fabric Manager, occasionally meet with vendors to select appropriate fabrications.
What you'll have:
- At least 2-3 years of specialized experience in fabric sourcing/development for a high-end label or contemporary brand.
- Must have experience with materials.
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated
