Summary:
The Elementary Charter School Teacher, under the direction of the site administrator, is responsible for providing instruction in content areas in which each assigned student can grow emotionally, socially intellectually, and physically according to their basic needs, ability, and maturity level. This position is for anticipated openings for elementary school instructors (TK – 5th grade) for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Teacher works with the Principal to establish a wholesome learning environment and culture. The Teacher works in partnership with parents to develop the highest level of educational achievement for each child.
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in related field and including all courses needed to meet credential requirement.
- Must possess valid California teaching credential (Multiple Subject Teaching or equivalent).
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Must possess valid CLAD, BCLAD, Emergency 30-day, or equivalent.
- Must be certified to teach T-Kindergarten through 6th grade in the United States.
- Must have experience in elementary schools as teacher or student teacher. Elementary Charter schools experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of project-based instruction, differentiated instruction, and convergence thinking.
- Has knowledge of curriculum, California standards, and effective teaching practices. Competency in human relations and oral and written communication.
- Has knowledge and experience with English Language Development.
- Has knowledge and expertise with students with special needs.
- Has ability to work well with people: broad grasp of educational planning and curriculum.
- Demonstrates genuine concern for students and passion for quality education.
- Act as role model for students.
Curriculum and Instruction:
- Supports the implementation of the school vision, culture, and educational model.
- Develops and delivers curriculum according to state standards.
- Maintains documentation and communicates with parents.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and ensures learning atmosphere in classroom.
- Maintains classroom management.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials as part of planned learning experiences to motivate students.
- Provides Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and intervention, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
