Electronic Service Technician

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a full-time Service Technician to work in our Service and Rental department. This position would troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical welding units as well as inspect returned rental equipment. The technician will work on a variety of equipment including: MIG, TIG, and Stick welders, Plasma Cutters, Robotics, and diesel and gas engine driven welders and generators.

The position is schedule Monday through Friday. Typical shifts start between 7am – 9am and work until 3:30 – 5:30.

The Service Technician’s Primary Duties Are:

• Diagnose mechanical and/or electronic problems
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and test welders
• Repair wiring, and electronic components
• Read schematics, order parts, and install components
• Provide warranty service on Lincoln, Miller, and other welding brands
• Complete service calls to customer locations as needed

Requirements:

• Knowledge of electricity and electronics
• Excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision or direction
• Electronic or Mechanical vocational degree OR at least 5 years of experience with welding equipment maintenance
• Willing to secure Lincoln, Miller and ESAB “Certified Technician” status
• Basic computer skills to answer email, and conduct internet research
