The Opportunity
As a skilled member of the team, you will support residential PV solar system installations and primarily electrical wiring. You’ll be making site visits to homes to determine electrical scope of work, help prepare work orders, electrically wire homes and trim out, and help commission solar PV systems. You will provide electrical expertise that will contribute to the overall success of providing off-grid solar power to families living without electricity. Primary Responsibilities
Draw electrical blueprints
Produce an electrical BOM for residential projects
Bend EMT conduit up to 1” with hand bender; other with pneumatic/hydraulic bender
Mount load centers and terminate
Perform PV inverter interconnections at the load center
Electrical wiring of solar array/systems (DC and AC)
Troubleshoot electrical issues
Coordinate with team to ensure all materials and equipment necessary for installation are available onsite
Communicate job status to install team and managers
Attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
Write project reports that can be understood by other team members
Maintain a clean and safe job site
Ensure work performed is good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
Provide exceptional customer service experience and share knowledge with customers
Improve processes and proactively review workmanship onsite
Travel is mandatory and will vary dependent on business needs
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience with roofing, photovoltaic and/or commercial/residential electrical installation
Must be able to read blueprints, one-line and 3-line diagram
Punctuality and dependability are essential
Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers
Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to carry, push and pull up to 50+ pounds
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work from heights
Prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time.
OSHA10 certification
Experience installing off-grid solar PV
Preferred Qualifications
Continuing Education (e.g. CLE)
Electrical certificate (e.g. fundamentals)
