Electrical Technician, 2nd Shift

 Racine, WI area

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility and/or manufacturing electrical position.
  • Highly motivated person that is able to handle a high volume of work with accuracy in a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to be an independent thinker and find solutions to problems and then implement those solutions.
  • Must be team oriented and have good people skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to include MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Must be able to safely lift heavy objects as necessary or on a repeated basis.
  • Familiarization with safety standards and risk assessment procedures is a plus.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license, vehicle insurance and dependable vehicle
  • Knowledge and experience of safety programs and lockout tag procedures.
  • Knowledge of electrical and physical dynamics as they relate to machine functions.
  • Knowledge of all local, state, and federal regulations necessary for the completion of all duties.
  • Knowledge of PLC’s.
  • Knowledge of variable speed drives.
  • Weekends and overtime may be required.

 

 

Electrical Technician Summary

The Electrical Technician performs difficult technical troubleshooting using electrical prints and PLC’s, this person is also responsible for conducting training on the floor and for completing root cause corrective action assessments on equipment, and repair of a variety of electrical equipment in a manufacturing facility.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical, electronic testing devices.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components.
  • Inspect, operate and diagnose electrical malfunctions and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Prepare records of maintenance, records must indicate all repairs made, parts used, analysis performed, and other related information.
  • Maintain electrical knowledge of all electrical materials.
  • Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
  • Assist in training personnel as required.
  • Perform root cause corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot equipment using PLC, electrical prints, manuals
  • Communicate with OEM’s and suppliers

 

Working conditions:

  • Protective eyewear, hearing protection, and safety shoes are always required in shop areas.
  • Temperatures may range from 40-100 degrees, depending on the area of the plant an individual may be working in.
  • Job duties may require working from ladders or platforms above floor level. Job duties may involve the use of solvents, oils, grease, etc. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required.
