Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Electrical Maintenance Engineer - $80-90K – Heavy Industrial Manufacturing (Chemicals, P&P, O&G, Metals, Mining, ect) – Will collaborate with Production Operations, Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance in the development and application of techniques, procedures, tests, and/or processes to ensure the optimization and efficiency of the production process. Detect possible risks or incidents for their elimination or minimization and participate in preventive and corrective activities planned. Plan and participate in preventive and corrective action activities. Organize the daily tasks of maintenance, comply with the programs established to maintain the operational equipment in their area of influence. This includes the use of technologies in thermography and root cause failure analysis. Troubleshoot PLCs, high voltage systems, motor controls and AC/DC drives.

BS degree in Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years experience performing electrical, instrumentation, and process control work in a heavy industrial environment such as Chemicals, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, Metals, Mining, ect. Experience should include trouble-shooting and maintaining 480-volt electrical distribution systems, maintaining and troubleshooting high voltage (12.5KV) systems with 120 VDC control circuits, 480 VAC motor circuits, 120 VAC motor control systems, AC/DC variable speed drives, PLC trouble-shooting and minor programming. Trouble-shooting, repair, and calibration of closed loop control circuits and knowledge of wound rotor motor and resistive braking circuits is a plus. Previous work experience in applying predictive maintenance technologies of thermography and experience in implementing and maintaining a root cause failure analysis program is also highly desirable. Knowledgeable of OSHA rules and regulations. Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft office products.
