NAMS Transportation has been successfully providing transportation for 40+ years to seniors and adults with disabilities. Several of our team members that were here for the early days are still at NAMS! NAMS is currently looking to hire Full and Part Time Dispatchers for its para-transit transportation program. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficiency with our driving staff. You will be responding to driver questions and optimizing their routes. We offer a very competitive wage based on experience and related knowledge of the business model (para-transit transportation for seniors and disabled citizens.)

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Dispatching drivers for transportation pick up and returns.
• Ensure schedules are complete and entered into the computer daily.
• Ensure Drivers properly record daily ACCESS information.
• Handle all returns in an orderly fashion.
• Ensure manifests are submitted in an accurate manner.
• Handles reassigning of trips from one driver to another as needed.
• Operates a two way radio.
• Report accidents and incidents consistent with agency policies and procedures.
• Perform tasks as directed by the Dispatch Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years dispatcher, scheduler, and transportation related experience preferred.
• Computer skills are a must!
• Some of the open FT and PT positions will require evenings and or weekend work shifts
• Previous Dispatcher and transportation experience desired.
• Applicants must have extensive knowledge of the roadways and landmarks in Northern Allegheny county, including the North Hills, City of Pgh, Wexford, Tarentum, etc

The Transportation Department of NAMS provides transit services to the City of Pittsburgh and the suburbs of northern Allegheny County from 6 a.m. until midnight 365 days a year for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Wheelchair vans and passenger vehicles are available depending on riders’ needs.
