Discovery Engineer Core responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate discovery tooling technologies across a broad spectrum of modern hardware and software IT assets
- Design and implement discovery solutions in collaboration with existing technologies used to collect technology inventories
- Define monitoring and operational automation to control and manage discovery coverage, quality of discovered attributes and reconciliation of data.
- Interact with stakeholders and customers to collect and analyze data and discovery requirements.
- Design and implement discovery tool and data integrations with the CMDB and other related inventory/system of record in the ITAM ecosystem Qualifications (minimum)
- Implementation and operations experience with modern asset specific discovery tools
- Experience with modern ITAM implementations and discovery integrations
- Proficiency with cloud, on prem and end user IT asset management practices and procedures
- Ability to document and convey discovery analyses, network designs, maturation roadmaps and discovery data quality scorecards
- Knowledge of ServiceNow’s CMDB discovery integrations and reconciliation engine
- Experience implementing ServiceNow in complex network environments
- 5+ years of industry experience in a specific ITAM discovery implementations
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile and project management methodology(preferred)
- Specific implementation experience with Servicenow discovery, Tanium, Flexera, SCCM, BMC ADDM, AWS Config/Trail , google and Azure APIs etc
- Experience with discovery data reconciliation using Open Source agents/tools (OSQuery etc) and use of Observability, vulnerability scanning data
- Datwarehousing and Datalake experience to manage, reconcile and manipulate large discovery datasets
