Job Description:

The Company is currently seeking an experienced, full-time Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and development of the human resource function.  This position reports to the COO and is responsible for managing all human resources services, policies, and programs. 
 

Essential Functions Include:

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices;
     
  • Conducting recruitment efforts, including writing job descriptions, placing advertisements, screening and interviewing candidates, performing reference checks, extending job offers and conducting new-employee orientations;
     
  • Performance management and improvement of systems including performance development plans and employee evaluation programs;
     
  • Ensuring the organization is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations;
     
  • Overseeing the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization;
     
  • Employee onboarding, development, needs assessment, and training;
     
  • Policy & procedure development and documentation;
     
  • Company employee and community communication;
     
  • Compensation and benefits administration;
     
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health;
     
  • Employee services and counseling;
     
  • Designing and implementing employee retention strategies and continuing focus on positive company culture.

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.

Competencies:   

  • A minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
     
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.
     
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
     
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship-building and employee coaching skills.
     
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
     
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
     
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
     
  • Evidence of the ability to practice and coach organization managers in the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
