Carnwennan, LLC is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for the implementation and enhancement of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) technologies in an amazon web services environment. The qualified candidate will have a breadth of exposure to automation technologies and be capable of implementing all phases of CI/CD pipelines. This role is in support of mission-critical United States Government programs and requires someone with Resident or Citizenship Status.
The position is 100% remote
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, managing, and updating continuous integration (CI) / continuous delivery (CD) pipelines using tools such as Gradle, Docker, GitHub, Ansible, Packer, Jenkins, SonarQube, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.
- Implement security requirements on AWS/Azure/GCP/VMWare
- Estimate AWS/Azure/GCP usage costs and operational costs
- Build maintenance and support automated processes both within Private Cloud and Public Cloud
- Lead and perform hands-on engineering, administration, and technical support.
- Perform and lead diagnostics of problems, troubleshoot and develop solutions
- Provide guidance as a subject matter expert on product design, development, troubleshooting, and documentation applications that run-on within Public and Private Cloud
- Assist in designing, developing, and operationalize new processes such as on-demand environment provisioning
- Identify opportunities for refinement, tools consolidation, and continuous improvement
- Work as a communicator, and collaborator in a multi-project, multi contractor environment
- Document CI/CD tools and processes in the wiki
- Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation
Skills/Qualifications
Required:
- IT Professional with a BS degree and/or 4 years of experience.
- Experience AWS Services
- Experience working with VMWare
- The exceptional engineer who loves to learn and work with cutting-edge technologies and tools.
- Linux experience including experience with shell scripting, networking, storage, and release management is preferred
- Experience with Ansible automation both in Public and Private Cloud
- Experience with at least one scripting language such as Shell, Python, Ruby, etc.
- Experience working with Git and code repos such as GitHub or GitLab
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- US Citizenship or Resident and ability to obtain a Public Trust level clearance
Desired:
- AWS certification preferred
- VMware 7.x and 8.x experience, especially within the VMWare automation and integration of CI/CD pipeline integration
- Experience with ServiceNow Automation
