DE Underwriter - Remote

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for underwriting mortgage applications, compiling and creating credit decisions, interpreting investor guidelines, and policies. Analyzing and evaluating loan risk for conventional loans that receive DU Approve/Eligible or LP Accept recommendations. Reviewing all loan submissions to ensure compliance with government, and FNMA/FHLMC guidelines. Managing daily workflow files and working closely with Retail MLO’s, Wholesale Brokers, and operations staff.
 

Essential Qualifications:

• DE / SARS / LAPP designation
• Strong knowledge in “A” Paper, FNMA/FHLM; FHA/VA programs
• Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter, Loan Prospector, and Calyx Point.
• Demonstrate high volume productivity
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• 2 of years AUS experience.
• Must have demonstrated satisfactory knowledge of DU and LP input.
• Ability to handle confidential material in a professional and ethical manner.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• 4 years of current conventional and government underwriting experience in a wholesale or retail environment.
• Current knowledge of RESPA and MDIA regulations
• Familiarity with Jumbo and Bond Loans is a Plus
• Working knowledge of “Empower” is a plus
