Role Overview
As AVP – Data & Cloud Transformation, you will be responsible for leading strategic client engagements, designing and delivering robust cloud and data transformation roadmaps, and driving pre-sales efforts across Tavant's customer base. This is a client-facing leadership role requiring a deep technical foundation in data engineering, cloud architecture, and modernization strategies, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Define and execute tailored data & cloud transformation strategies for enterprise clients
Engage with C-level and VP-level client stakeholders to understand business objectives and technical challenges
Present solution roadmaps, transformation journeys, and business cases aligned with customer goals
Act as a technical pre-sales leader, supporting proposal creation, RFP responses, and workshops
Partner with sales, architects, engineers, and delivery teams to create winning client-specific solutions
Lead customer conversations, demos, and advisory sessions on cloud-native data platforms and modernization
Provide technical oversight and hands-on architectural guidance across:
Data Engineering (Databricks, Snowflake, Python, SQL)
Cloud Platforms: AWS & Azure
Data Lake Architecture, Pipelines, and Modernization Models
Stay current with cloud-native trends and help shape Tavant’s offerings through whitepapers, pitch decks, and solution briefs
Align pre-sales strategy with technical delivery for seamless execution
Mentor junior architects, engineers, and consultants
Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing, best practices, and continuous process improvements
Serve as the strategic technical advisor during and post-engagement
Identify cross-sell/upsell opportunities in existing accounts
Map customer pain points to data and cloud solutions that deliver real ROI
Define and track KPIs to monitor transformation effectiveness
Provide regular updates and executive-level reporting to both client and internal leadership
8+ years of deep, hands-on experience in:
Data Engineering (Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Python)
Cloud Transformation & Modernization (AWS & Azure mandatory)
Cloud-native architectures & migration strategies
Proven pre-sales experience: engaging with clients, responding to RFPs, and building business cases
Experience presenting to and advising CXOs, VPs, and technical teams
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Education from a Tier-1/premier institute (IITs, NITs, top US universities, etc.)
Must demonstrate technical depth – still hands-on or closely involved in architecture/design
Prior experience working in consulting, system integrators, or cloud-focused product companies
Exposure to AI/ML enablement in cloud and data ecosystems
Certifications in AWS/Azure/Data platforms
