Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Carries out district vision for equitable and linguistically responsive instruction in designated subject area, working collaboratively with stakeholders. Develops and implements district-wide

instructional systems for high quality curriculum, professional learning, coaching and assessments, building the capacity of district coaches to provide individualized school support and to lead district professional learning communities.

 

- Collaboratively creates and implements the comprehensive vision and strategic plan for designated curriculum areas in partnership with the Schools Team, schools, and other academic departments.

- Develops the capacity of district coaches to provide exemplary customer service, instructional coaching and professional learning opportunities to schools on equitable and linguistically responsive instruction, curriculum and assessment.

- Collaboratively implements the district assessment strategy; provides professional learning to district coaches and directors of schools on assessments.

- Builds and develops a strong team culture grounded in district values and a commitment to excellence and service to schools.

- Develops partnerships with the Schools Team to ensure impactful deployment of the district math coaches.

 

 

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

 

- Three (3) plus years of teaching experience in area of elementary mathematics, including three years experience coaching teachers.

- Three (3) plus years previous experience working in an urban district with Multilingual Learners and leading for Spanish Literacy.

- Two (2) plus years of management responsibility.

- Valid Colorado Driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage, and an acceptable driving record for the past three years.

- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills required.

- Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive (versus, reactive) manner.

- Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team.

- Ability to effectively lead a team.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.

- Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.

- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

- Knowledge of best practices in curriculum instruction and standards-based education and effective instructional programs and methodologies.

 

 

Education Requirements:

 

- Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject area.

- Master’s Degree preferred.
