Open Scientific is looking for a Bilingual Spanish/English Cosmetics R&D Project Manager to oversee the project developments of the R&D Center of a growing international cosmetics manufacturer based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

 

This position reports to the R&D Director.

 

This innovation cosmetics manufacturer has international clients in Peru and Colombia so Bilingual Spanish/English is required.

 

Summary:

  •  Bilingual Spanish/English Cosmetics R&D Project Manager will manage the project development at the R&D Center of this growing cosmetics and fragrance company. position requires someone familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures, with experience in Skin Care/Personal Care/and/or Makeup formulation. Knowledge of Cosmetic Chemistry is a best.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

 

    • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of formula development.
    • Validate in collaboration with each area manager all the technical information

(legal “dossier”, testing, etc.).

    • Report any problems during the development to the R&D Director.

 

    • Participate in the new product process from brief presentations to the final stage of development.

 

    • Collaborate with the Corporate Project Managers.

 

    • Review, apply and create the processes of new formula development as needed, such as the general process of development with roles and responsibilities clearly defined.

 

    • Create a macro process integrating the already existing micro processes.

 

    • Lead the new product development meeting once a month.

 

    • Validate the final approval of a formula checking all its aspects before going to PP.

 

    • Support the labs with any trouble shooting needs.

 

    • Participate and support the process of R&D software replacement.

Ensure the timely follow up of stability testing.

 

      • Responsible for managing the Stability Testing Lab.
      • In charge of training technicians for stability testing
      • Ascertains accuracy or data and drives continuous improvements to data collected and test quality
      • Involved in the formula approval process by reporting the stability testing results
      • Contribute to method development for stability testing on new formulations as required

Education/Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in the field.

Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

 

Other considerations:

 

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
