Summary
The Electrical Controls Engineer will report directly to the Plant Manager. Controls Engineer will be responsible for the research, design, development and installation of automated and robotic machines and systems used in manufacturing facilities.
The Electrical Controls Engineer will ensure that industrial equipment and machinery work safely and efficiently; that is ensure that optimum production levels are achieved throughout the plant. This individual will also be responsible for analyzing the historical and ongoing performance of capital equipment, research more efficient and more effective solutions, and implement those process improvement projects involving engineering and quality teams, maintenance and support personnel, and production operators.
This is a temperature-controlled environment
Job Requirements
Responsibilities of this position involve:
Consult with Engineering team on issues involving product and recommend potential corrective actions.

- Responsible for installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software
- Responsible for the electrical engineering and software design of control systems on automation equipment specific to customer and project requirements
- Lead, direct, and oversee maintenance, support, and contractors in the installation, maintenance and improvements to the plant and capital equipment
- Consults regularly with Plant Management to report status, raise issues, take direction, and assist where able
Skills Requirements:

- Ability to program PLCs, HMI and data collection systems for automated equipment (Allen Bradley, and Siemens).
- Ability to design, maintain and troubleshoot automated control systems and components; PLCs, variable frequency drives, hydraulics/pneumatic, temperature and vision sensors, etc.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and take the proper action for correction in a high stress production environment
- Vision Systems experience
- Robotics experience
Education and Experience Requirements:

- 5+ years of recent experience as a Controls Engineer
- BS in Electrical Engineering, similar degree, or equivalent work experience
