Our Cedar Falls, IA manufacturing client is looking to hire a Controller. The ideal candidate has prior accounting experience in the manufacturing industry and can apply their experience quickly to facilitate growth projections. The ideal candidate is reliable, conscientious, and has a willingness to serve in multiple capacities every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and taxes.
- A/R to include record/post receipts, invoicing, debits/credits, and bank deposits.
- A/P includes bill payment, post to GL, reconcile bank accounts, and credit card reporting.
- Payroll includes processing biweekly paychecks and submitting payroll taxes.
- Responsible for tax compliance including processing quarterly tax reports plus Federal/State annual tax preparation.
- Understand the financials of a company to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.
- Coordinate, prepare and report financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to key stakeholders.
- Assist the Operations Director in preparation and completion of monthly performance indicator tracking and annual reporting/budgeting process.
- Manages human resources, with the Operations Director, from hiring and training to benefits implementation and performance tracking.
- Assist the Operations Director in efficiently managing inventory control to meet internal performance indicators.
- Audits as required for financial reporting and outside agencies (insurance). Performs technical accounting issue research and resolution, as necessary.
- Integrates and enhances company’s use of software. Helps implement software/enhancements into company’s processes and procedures.
- Manage projects and initiatives as assigned by the Operations Director and/or CEO.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Prior Quickbooks experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Prior experience with Enterprise resource management (ERP) systems, HR, and inventory management preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management about the finances of the business and justify financial recommendations.
- Attention to detail.
- Good understanding of international finance.
- Organization and project management.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
