Job Description:

Construction Engineering Services Technician to complete Building Envelope Inspection services for Criterium-Kessler Engineers and our clients across Arizona and Nevada.  Work involves a full range of building envelope related inspection services for projects in building construction, technology and efficiency, real estate risk management, due diligence, and other building engineering projects.

 

The selected candidate will interface directly with a diverse set of commercial and residential clients, on-staff professional engineers, other field technicians (EIT’s), the support staff, and the Owner to meet a variety of inspection and engineering consulting needs in the fast-growing Phoenix and Las Vegas area.  This is an established, growing company with process, goals and highly motivated staff. The Construction Engineering Services Technician will be expected to conduct condition assessment inspections, testing and evaluations of existing structures with building envelope performance issues related to construction defects or environmental damage; inspect new buildings or repairs to ensure manufacturing guidelines are adhered to for warranty compliance, complete review and analysis of construction documents and engineering reports; manage project budgets and schedules; interact with clients; and prepare technical reports.

 

 
  •  2+ years’ experience in building envelope consulting and engineering, including condition assessment inspections, investigation and testing of existing structures preferred. 
  • Company will provide paid training for the right person with the right attitude with minimal experience.
  • Practical experience with building envelope systems, including exterior walls, roofing systems and fenestrations.
  • Willingness to climb on roofs, in crawl spaces or onto other structures as inspection requires
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in writing and editing of technical reports.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. (required)

  • make improvements to plans and work quality.
  • OSHA 10 certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong building code knowledge - certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, AAMA, and discipline-specific Commissioning standards and testing procedures.
  • Team player who can effectively work with virtual team members
  • Self-starter with the ability to anticipate issues before they arise
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation.
  • Must be a current legal citizen of the US
